I enjoyed reading this book. The Bruno character is fairly relatable and there’s lots of information about French village life, history and culture. The book takes a LOT of side trips in telling its main story, and I found the ending unsatisfying and I’d even say frightening in its easy assumption that “justice” is what Bruno and the mayor agree it is. Recommended.
