Great insight into the War of the Shadow and the Breaking from the short piece accompanying the Wheel of Time series

I thought this short story provided a lot of background into what happened to the Forsaken and how the Dark One tainted the One Power for men.

Dry. Very, very dry. I had a hard time even reading this very small prequel.

It reads more like a textbook. So, as much as I am enjoying The Wheel of Time books, this was more about learning a few facts about The Breaking of The World than having fun. Interesting nonetheless.
