I completely get the hype for this book! πŸ‘

We’ve got a strong, smart, no-nonsense FMC 🧠πŸ’ͺ, a broody and battle-scarred captain πŸ˜βš”οΈ, a dystopian world on the brink of chaos 🌍πŸ”₯, and secrets lurking in every shadow. Toss in a military academy with high-stakes tension, plot twists that slap you in the face, and characters that cling to your heart? Yep, I was hooked from the first chapter.

I’m officially invested. Book 2, you better be ready because I am. πŸ«‘πŸ“–πŸ’₯

--- POTENTIAL SPOILERS FROM HERE ---

This reminded me of Shatter Me, Fourth Wing, and Zodiac Academy. Some scenes really gave me flashbacks. Overall i still enjoyed it!

I've heard this book mentioned in the likes of ACOTAR & Fourth Wing. By that measuring stick I'd say it's more action packed and gritty than ACOTAR and less detail oriented as far as world building that Fourth Wing. There was at least one twist I didn't see coming. I can't wait for the next! I think there's going to be a lot to discover and uncover in this series.

Silver Elite follows Wren Darlington, a "Mod" with special powers living in a world where other mods are regularly put to death or imprisoned, or allowed to work for the enemy side,  the "Primes" who have no special powers, in a dystopian world. Wren finds herself forced to be in an elite training program where she needs to keep her dangerous secrets.

Overall, this was an interesting read and kept my interest for the most part.

What it's about:
Wren has spent her whole life trying to hide her psychic abilities because they're forbidden. After making a careless mistake, she is forced to train in an elite program run by her enemy. She can't trust anyone, but her heart has other ideas.

What I thought:
I loved this whole book. It reminded me a bit of Divergent and Fourth Wing, so it makes sense why I couldn't put it down.
The plot kept me guessing, and I loved the main characters. The romance was good too.

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: loved this narrator so much. It was so easy to listen to, and the different characters’ voices were good.

⚠️ violence, gore, swearing, death, & rape

Holy hellfuck. Let me tell you, 2025 is the year for fire fantasy reads. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ I love when you are reading a book, and you cannot stop thinking about it when you are not reading it. This was absolutely the case for me with Silver Elite.

Wren Darlington is Modified, meaning she developed psychic abilities after exposure to a biotoxin. How in the heck did she wind up in a military academy where officers learn to eliminate the Modified, then?!? This book was full of action, and some parts reminded me of what the police academy must have been like for my husband. Others, not so much. πŸ™ˆπŸ€£ I blew through this 500+ page tome. My only complaint is that I must stop reading these killer books before their sequels are released! I need more!

"’Wolf.’ A smile spreads across my lips. β€˜It's nice to finally meet you.’”
