SOOOO GOOD. Definitely a few too many spicy scenes, but loved it anyways. The plot kept pushing me forward, dying to read the next page. The ending in my opinion was not as big of a cliff hanger as I think the author was going for but either way can’t wait for the follow up book for the story to continue!!!
3.75 ⭐️ I loved this, it was enjoyable and entertaining !! It reminded me of divergent in a way (it's like we're in dauntless) but also books like red queen and powerless (for the powers aspect). The world is interesting same for the plot and the characters. I also liked the pacing. I don't give this a higher rating because it's not memorable enough.
Wren was funny, very very stubborn but not annoying I loved her pov ! I like how she became a little softer by the end. Cross was good too, I’m not obsessed but I like him and his story. I guessed who he was immediately though. The love story was very lust based at first but I liked the development.
I also liked some of the side characters like Kaine who was very funny. We had a mini « love triangle » that I hope won’t go further. I also liked Ivy who didn’t end up being what I thought hope I’m not mistaken.
Lydia doesn’t deserve any word I hate her guts
Roe is crazy and his brother too, I’m expecting the worst with them and can’t wait for the next book.

2.5 ⭐️
Read this for book club and it was just really not for me. The FMC drove me absolutely crazy and the whole book being on her POV made it pretty painful. It also felt like copy and paste every trope you could want and half ass through it in a book. The pacing of this didn’t make much sense to me. Didn’t get into until almost 40 chapters in. I do however see why people like it. Could be persuaded to read the second book for book club again it wouldn’t choose to for me. Could’ve been so much better honestly.

Ok this is definitely a blatant combo of Divergent, Fourth Wing, and Hunger Games, and it isn’t nearly as good as any of those, BUT there is some really fun stuff in here too. I will def read the sequel whenever it comes out. HOWEVER:
They could’ve made this book stand out by changing one simple thing: MAKE THE MAIN GIRL UGLY. Or even just not have her be the hottest woman alive. That alone would set this apart from every other series. Unfortunately, no one has the guts to do that

I was hesitant to read after this being super hyped up- and while it doesn’t live completely up to the hype, I did find myself entertained. I would have loved a bit more backstory into the dystopian world, felt like kind of an afterthought…the politics are mentioned but sort of just glossed over. I expect more in subsequent books and will continue to follow Wren’s story. Overall, a bit predictable, but entertaining.
FMC is just sooooo good at everything. What a hard life!
