Dieses Buch ist das beste der Trilogie :)
Das erste Buch hat mir gut gefallen, es war eine gute Einleitung in die Geschichte. Das zweite Buch war mir etwas zu langsam erzählt, besonders der Anfang... doch ab der Mitte wurde es dann etwas interessanter und der Schluss machte dann aber neugierig auf mehr, sodass ich froh war, dass ich Buch 3 sofort zur Hand hatte...
Buch 3 ist für mich das beste der Trilogie, weil es wirklich spannend ist. Der Anfang ist super interessant: man erfährt, was es mit Bower City auf sich hat; dass nicht, wie gedacht, nur noch 13 Städte auf der ganzen Welt existieren; man lernt neue Charaktere kennen und findet heraus, was es mit den Wirkern auf sich hat (was mich schon seit Buch 1 interessiert hat) ...
Die Menschen von Lillians Welt müssen entweder zusammenarbeiten, selbst mit ihren größten Feinden, um ihre Welt zu retten oder zusammen mit dieser untergehen...
Lily muss Stärke beweisen, um nicht so zu werden wie Lillian. Sie ist mit Rowan zerstritten, hat ihren Vater, Lillians Juliet und ihren besten Freund Tristan verloren... Sie weiß, dass sie nicht allein gegen Grace kämpfen kann, und dass selbst ihre kleine Armee nicht ausreicht. Lily vereint in ihrer Armee Menschen veschiedener Herkunft, die sich gegenseitig hassen, doch wie sagt man: "Der Feind meines Feindes ist mein Freund." Die Menschen müssen ihren Hass überkommen, um zu siegen, auch gegenüber den Wirkern, die Lily vereinnahmt, um ihre Armee weiter zu verstärken.
Dies gefiel mir besonders, dass Lily die Wirker ihrer Armee hinzufügt. Die Menschen müssen lernen, ihre Vorurteile beiseite zu legen und einsehen, dass auch die Wirker ungerecht behandelt wurden... dass auch diese das Recht haben, für ihre Welt zu kämpfen!
Ich finde es auch gut, dass Josephine Angelini sich dazu entschied, die Bienen Grace töten zu lassen anstelle von Alaric. Damit zeigt sie dem Leser, dass die Bienenwirker ebenfalls nur Schachfiguren in Graces Spiel waren und nur ihre Befehle ausführten.
Allen in allem ein gelungener Abschluss dieser interessanten Trilogie von [a:Josephine Angelini|3406550|Josephine Angelini|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1395869610p2/3406550.jpg]. Das Buch zeigt, dass man seine Differenzen beiseite legen muss, um erfolgreich zu sein, und dass man jeden obgleich seiner Herkunft akzeptieren soll. :) Man sollte immer die Hintergründe kennen, bevor man jemanden verurteilt...

Ah!
The down side of a much anticipated final book in a trilogy.
I wanted to love this book because I LOVED Angelini's Starcrossed series SO MUCH.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series (not as much as Starcrossed- big shoes to fill) and bonded with the characters. I really liked the premise and could follow along with most of the mechanic/crucible/witch/willstone/Woven content and found it quite unique, although, this could be due to my lack of knowledge in the Fantasy book world.
Without spoilers I'll say that I wish for more- it felt like I got 4/5 of the way through and realised there was no way to end it without it being rushed.

I WAS SO ANNOYED BY JULIET'S (Lillian's Juliet) DEATH! It was quick and I really liked her character, Lily spent more time being upset about stupid Tristan who CHEATED on her in Book One. Seriously beloved sister who saved you and left her BF to experience the journey to the Hive with you or Tristan who cheated on you and who you didn't want to be with while he was alive because you were sad about Rowan.
Then she punished Rowan for SO LONG for Tristan's death- mate, he did what he had to do to keep you alive and followed you alone for months to make sure you were okay- give him a break!
I was really disappointed that we had no ending to anyone's story- what happened to Toshi? What happened to the Outlanders and Woven? Did Lily take over Salem and is that why Simm's was in the Epilogue? I have so many things to say about Simm's- why did they pick her?
I guess I am hopeful for another book to finish things off.

I thought the last book in this series was excellent but this one has it beat by leaps and bounds! This series has quickly become one of my all time favourite series involving witches. It's such a unique take on witches, I've never read anything quite like it before!
There is non stop action the whole way through and so many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Some actually had my jaw dropping I was so surprised. This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!
I really loved seeing how much each of the characters evolved over the course of the series. Especially Lily, it was so thrilling to watch her become the Witch she was meant to be! And I have a special place in my heart for Breakfast, I just love him as a character.
It's quite rare that a book leaves me feeling 100% satisfied. Normally there's at least one tiny thing that I'd change or a question unanswered. But this book ended the series on such a satisfying note. It left nothing unanswered and no loose ends were left to leave you wondering!

A fantastic end to a wonderful series, even though I'm filled with questions I'm not disappointed with the ending and I think it's actually better than something neat. This allows for possibility, for the imagination of this new world.
