I liked the ending, not the epilogue but just the final chapter. The rest of it was kind of a let down :(

4.75/5
This book took me sooooo long to finish but not because I didn't like it (obviously) but because school is brutal and I have been so tired. Anyways..this book has been a refuge and I just loved the characters and the plot and world a lot. Rowan and Lily have my whole heart and also I have high hopes for Toshi and his life going forward. The friendships were sweet and I liked how everyone held each other accountable because it was realistic. Good trilogy and the ending was almost perfect :)

Great series.. review to come soon!

It had been so long since I read Firewalker that I'd forgotten how much I love this series. I know it has it's problems but I really do like the idea; the plot is really fun and the characters have been written really well. When I got to 75% of the way through I couldn't believe this was the final book, it felt like so much still needed to happen & I didn't think it could happen in such a small amount of pages... it did happen, but I really wish the ending had been longer. I'll try to keep this spoiler free, but the 'discovery' made at the start of this book was SO unexpected and everything that happened within this discovery was really gripping. I've always felt that the world building in these books has been done amazingly well, and Josephine proved that again with what happened in this book. I also loved what happened with the Woven toward the end - I always LOVED the sound of the pack (they're wolf-like, I just can't help myself).

Despite it feeling like it ended quickly the ending was still satisfying (but I'd definitely love another book on how everyone recovers from what happened), and the epilogue made me laugh. I'm super tired and unwell so this review really isn't as long or detailed as some of my other reviews, but I honestly did enjoy the book and I might end up rereading the series at some point (even though my reading list is already far too long) because I think the series could be really, really good if read back-to-back. Part of me really wishes I'd only just discovered the series so I could do just that. I'll miss Lily, she was cute at the start but her growth throughout the books has turned her into a warrior & we all love a strong woman.

I really liked the first two books in the series and the final installment did not disappoint. I found the whole premise intriguing.

I absolutely loved it

This was always going to be a tough one to really enjoy because it was obvious that for things to be resolved appropriately, someone would have to pay the price.
Lily has found herself taken by the Hive. She learns that things in this alternate world are very different, but also comes to realise that she might just have found the key to sorting out the problems she faces. While mourning those who haven't made it, Lily has to accept that she has difficult decisions to make. Not everyone agrees with her plans, but she has the courage of her convictions.
As the book progresses it is clear that we are building to a fairly substantial battle. Angelini doesn't disappoint in this respect, though it seemed to take its time coming and then actually Peter out more quickly than I expected.
Suffice to say, we are left with the feeling that things have been sorted out by the time we get to the end though it might have been nice to learn a little more about the set-up.
