OMG...WTH...I NEED TO PROCESS.......RTC once I've calmed the crap down.

Updated

Here is the deal: Sierra’s writing style is fantastic! It is unique, and she weaves magic into her words. It's almost trance-like when you read! For character depth, personality, creativity, complexity, and the emotional torture we go through this book earns 5 Stars.

Problem- last few pages could make this 2 Stars. For me, a lot of how I feel about this book depends on the next! That might not sound fair, but that's the way series sometime go! I HAVE TO READ BOOK 3! This potential shock could potentially ruin the series FOR ME!!

The places this story goes are fascinating and boundary-pushing, more like boundary-shattering. There are sexual elements I still can't get into. This book has EVERYTHING. It is not for the prudish or faint of heart, but you've already read book one, so that's not a surprise.
I can't read straight erotica. I have to have a romantic love story. I feel this book despite the crazy orgy & other scenes that it is a love story. The relationship between these characters is beyond anything I've read, and their longing & want goes way beyond lust. Their desire and love are lodged deep inside their souls. I don't completely understand what magic or psychology is going on!?!

There are so many details I want to discuss, but secrecy and surprise are what fuels this story! So many questions are unanswered!!

If you want my very vague opinion on those last couple pages. Read on. I won't tell you what happens but my reaction & opinions, which mean nothing! lol

If you read any of my updates, around 75% I started to wonder if the story was going to have this specific twist. The wording is so important, and the way something was phrased made me pause and think.
Later on in the story, another conversation happens that really clued me in that Sierra was going to go for it, I hoped I was wrong, but she did.

With all that said...I don't think the shocker is the truth! There are too many factors, and the source of information makes me doubt it. Though how a character acted knowing/not knowing this is still shocking and heartbreaking. It is a disgusting betrayal!

I don't know how this mess is going to be dealt with!?! It ruins everything has been built. On a separate topic, despite a certain plan & purchase, I believe we will see a rather large consequence with significant uncertainty! That potential story intrigues and excites me!!

The two boys finally getting together was adorable and I was hoping they’d finally be over the homoerotic macho rich boy vs. poor boy thing they have going on but no. I’m fine with rivals to lovers, but I’m not okay with toxic abusive relationships. Poly romances should have good communication as a foundation, not whatever this book has. The ending is also bad and has really ruined the series even more for me. I’m going to start the next book because I already bought it and I hope they fix the ending.

Somewhere around the fifth mention of how similar the two guys looked I got an ominous sense of what might be to come... looked it up and lo and behold, secret incest.

I simultaneously need therapy, my vibrator, to report Sierra Simone to the authorities, and somehow also give her a prose award??

Sick and twisted and the characters’ emotions and motivations don’t make sense but the writing is beautiful at times and it’s hot? I hated the twist at the end, I saw it coming by tried to deny it

"I am the girl who kneels at night. I am the bride by thorns."

I really have no idea how Sierra Simone does this. This book left me hot and cold all over the place. This second book in the Thornchapel series is another masterpiece that needs to be devoured. It's no book you can read in between, you need to take your time as it demands your full attention from the first page to the last.

"You and Poe are like air and water, and he's earth. He's fire."

Like in the first book each of the six characters will pull you in their webs. Even though this second book focuses more on Poe, Auden and Saint, you'll also get your fill of the other three.
Specifically the attraction and releationship between Poe, Auden and Saint gets explored on a deeper level. We get to know what happened in the past and how Auden and Saint work on their forgiveness.

"I don't care how you keep me. Just keep me close"

Everything about this book keeps your mind busy. The mystery, the attraction, the unusual relationships. Sierra Simone's writing style creates a spell that binds you to the book. You won't be able to leave it. It's like Thornchapel doesn't only crawl into the characters of this book, but also into your mind.

"She looks up at him like he's just given her the moon, and it makes me want to give her the sun instead."

And let me tell you one thing: You'll start to guess and have your suspicions because of well placed hints all through the story. Trust your gut, you won't be wrong. The end will come like the huge wave you see coming but then you'll be surpised it hit so hard.

"The soul of you, Poe, is a soul made for living, and living hurts most of all."

Feast of Sparks is as hypnotic, intriguing and powerful as the first book. It will leave its marks in your mind and crawling under your skin like no other story.

Well shit… that was unexpected…not my favorite of the series, but because I prefer MFM books more than MM or MMF. Again, personal preference. The story was ok, but not as captivating as the first book. Still want to know what happens because that ending was just too much…
