Star Bringer: One ship. Seven strangers. A space adventure like no other. by Tracy Wolff, Nina Croft
stemtheatre's review against another edition
The writing just isn't good, the plot is really weak, and the characters are not good enough to make up for it. I didn't expect anything masterfully written, but this isn't even good enough to be a "junk food" book. Disappointing.

DNF @ page 244.
In the 200 pages I read, only two actual plot points happened. The rest of it was childish internal monologues, panting after a literal stranger, and making out at the most inappropriate times.
I had high hopes for this book. The world building looked original and interesting. It seemed to be a mix of fantasy and science fiction, two of my favorite genres. There was a lot of potential that was torn down by juvenile characters and a lackluster writing style. I was reminded more of an early internet fanfiction than a published novel and more times than I cared to count, I wondered how this was approved and released.

It was actually a 4.5 for me. It is told in four POVs. The plot was good. It was fast-paced and grabbed me right away. Each character was developed but not as much as I would like but I did enjoy that each character had a twist. The world building was good. There were a few spicy hot loves scenes. The most used word was "f**k. It ends with a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was so unsure at the start of this book but I perceived and I'm so glad I did as this soon became a 5* read, it is full of depth and it was amazingly written with how the characters relationships blossomed. It did leave me with questions and definitely created some discussions with others who have read this book.
