the murderer's identity was, again, very obvious. as far as i understand the chemistry between audrey and the lead circus performer, i couldn't bring myself to understand how a girl who just moments ago was ready to blame him for all the murders that happened on the boat went on to consider WHO SHE WANTS TO MARRY. this book was the perfect moment to show the unexpected durability of thomas and audrey's relationship, not her emotional instability, which is no longer due to PTSD apparently, because she magically got rid of the trauma after "resurrecting" her mother in such a short time. however what triggered my fight or flight instinct was laying out tarot cards for mrs. wardsworth. i guessed EVERY card that will be laid out for her, based on the knowledge that the author can't help but use stereotypes and likes to be an ultracrepidarian.

I know people think this is the weakest book in the series and I can see why but I still enjoyed it a lot. These characters have a gorilla grip chokehold on me
