I have always loved Elvis and his openness with his fans. He has a way of reaching his fan base and making you feel like friends and family even though you have never met. Part of this book seemed a little drawn out, as I’m not someone who cares about his interviews with celebrities. However, I loved hearing about his upbringing, his friendships, his relationships and how he got to where he is today.
I really enjoyed this book! Having been a life long Z100 listener, I knew it would be best to listen to the Audiobook because it was narrated by Elvis Duran. It was really interesting to get to know more about the man who I hear over the airways every morning. It was also really interesting to learn more about the music industry and radio through the years. I liked the little life lessons dispersed throughout!
5 ⭐️ I didn’t have many high expectations for this book. I don’t say that to be mean. I listen to Elvis Duran every morning while I get ready for work, and have been since high school (over 10 years!). I love the show and find Elvis to be so relatable and funny. I thought, “how is his book going to be any different than who he is on the radio every day? What will be new?”. Let me tell you something: it was amazing. I listened to it on Audible (highly suggest as he narrates it!), and I finished it in a day! I laughed, cried a little, and felt a sense of purpose for my own life. Elvis really seems like a genuine person, to his fans and also to himself. I realized while listening that I don’t love myself as much as I should, and I will be working on that. Am I doing what I love? Elvis shares so many lessons throughout the story that are very relatable. I think I’m going to listen to this again! It was that good!
For more than six years I tuned into into Elvis Duran and the Morning Show for my hour+ commute to the office. Over the years, Elvis and the cast of characters on the show felt like old friends, so when I heard about his book, I knew I needed to tune into the audiobook to hear him narrate it. Listening to it felt like I was back in the car on my commute as he shares stories growing up in the world of radio and how he built his show on Z100 and eventually grew as a nationally syndicated radio program.
As he is on the radio, the book is authentic and entertaining. I wish he went a bit deeper on his back story, but still loved his candid views on life backstage at events, celebrity interviews, the phone taps that make his show famous, and his weight loss journey. He also talks about how he never thought he'd get married because for most of his life it wasn't even a possibility for gay men.
If you're a fan of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, give this one a listen!

It was cool hearing more about his background and how he got his start, tbh I was hoping for a little more gossip, but this was overall a super fun book to listen to on my commute when the show was off for the holidays. He talks a lot on air about how it chronicles his wild days, and it does a little but to me, it was more interesting hearing him talk about juggling personal experiences and the show (like his relationship with members of the Trump family) and its a fine line I've often wondered about.
