Note: It's M/M Romance!!

This ebook was recommended to me by Msmiz95 from the M/M Romance group in Goodreads for the Quarterly Gang Bang Challenge.

Quotes I enjoyed from this book:
"Chulpalmae." Ceasar panted... Suck me.
"I don't know who else I can tell about this."
"What? Two casual fucks makes us good buds? Oh, I don't know how to handle this, I'll go find Nate?"
"Wrap me up inside you and let me forget about what I saw. This bust is going to make you and screw me. we both know that. Give me a little peace tonight." The last few words were whispered hot against Nate's jaw.

"We're involved, sort of."
"By involved, and the fact that you won't look at me, I'm interpreting that as playing mattress bingo?"

"You're," Al seemed to search his brain for a way to phrase it, "fuck buddies?"
"How 'bout fucked up buddies?" Ceasar rolled his eyes and shook his head. He had no idea what to call it. "I guess that's about as close as you could get."

Not bad the Kindle app needs a much better translator though.

Saw this posted on FB, it looked like exactly my kind of read, so I bought it, and yes I am glad I did. This was a very good cop/witness detective romance. I like Nate and Cesar, together and separately, I enjoyed the story and would be happy to read more of their tale.

I hate when I have to give a book such a low rating... but what else can I do with 'The Good Thief'? It's unoriginal, predictable, there's not one twist you won't see coming 50 pages before it does happen. The writing is basic : subject, verb, complement and the sayings my teacher told me 'use you synonyms' came to my mind more than once. I was very disappointed and I cannot find one redeemable feature in this book, sorry.

Annotations

This was a bit anticlimactic for me. I may just be desensitized though.

Really interesting story line- which I truly appreciated, but the flow I felt was a bit disjointed.

I probably made a mistake by starting to read this book right after I finished one that I really liked; one that left the characters living in my head after I had finished it.

I say this because I started this book over a month ago and I still haven't finished, and I probably never will. I have less than a hundred pages to go but I just can't make myself read it.

I didn't like all the sex. I honestly tried to skip it, except apparentely I am incapable of skipping parts of a book. I know, I should have expected it but come on! I read like seven sex scenes in two hundred pages! It was a bit too much, especially because it seemed like it was the only thing the two guys did. Either they were arguing or they were having sex. Most of the time, both things at the same time.

The policial part of the book I kind of want to know the end, but it's not like not knowing will keep me awake at night.

I especially didn't like Caesar. I don't know why; I just know that I could never really emphatize with him. Jason was alright, but in a "eh" way.

It's not a book that is going to stick with me (except maybe for the whole "never finished it" way). But you know, give it a chance. Maybe you'll like it. I just know it wasn't for me.

Hmmm what can I say... Cop story..

I share one of the leads in their feeling that I don't have a uniform fetish. BUT.. I feel that this story has done better than most in capturing how it feels caught between the uniform and the responsibilities versus the need to be who you are. There were a couple of key sentences that really made me understand just where Nate was coming from. I think [a:James Buchanan|604905|James Buchanan|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1182998589p2/604905.jpg] has captured it quiet well.

Great Characters.. with some great thought put into their development. Some of the scenes were a bit thin.. but then again maybe not considering the characters.

I've given this four stars because of the great capture of the feelings a cop can have when it comes to that fine line.

Thank goodness for Goodreads challenges!!! Read this as part of the M/M group bingo challenge. I never would read this yummy nugget if not for that challenge. Yes, it was on my TBR but so are over 2000 other books! Caesar and Nate are two strong, sexy MCs with crazy chemistry. They meet at a party and have a one night stand then Nate kicks Caesar out because he has to go to work. They meet again under rather odd circumstances and each time they rock each other's world. When they find out what each does for "a living," all bets are off. Now crime/romances are hard for me since I need the balance of the bad guys vs. good guys and the romance. Funnily enough the whole crime/bad cops thing was a little weak, particularly toward the end. But I didn't care. I loved these two guys together! On my gosh, over the top sex (almost too much), that feeling you get when you read two guys falling in love with each other - the feeling is almost palpable and I got that with Nate and Caesar. And the dog! Great touch. This is a first time author for me and though there were a few typos, it did not take me out of the story. I especially like this trope. Similar to one of my favorite M/M reads [bc:Shades of Gray|7016638|Shades of Gray|Brooke McKinley|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1256067881s/7016638.jpg|7262667]. Will definitely check out the author's other reads.
