Heartfelt and touching. I think every girl has abit of Annie in them.

Annie is a beautiful character, real in every sense as a girl.
The Choices we are given and decisions we have to make.
Running the marathon for Kyle is no easy task, and Jeremiah is such a sweet surprise, the risk taker, searching for meaning in life, challenging himself to find his grove until he meets Annie.

Then adrenaline takes on a new meaning.

I love the way Miranda Kenneally writes. She doesn't explain romance in every detail, but yet it's there and you feel the love. the way she writes sex is so good, without being detailed, yet it does not lessen the impact of completion or chemistry.

I love it, the subtle signs of love in the characters and their need for each other no less than if it was described.

I think i found my true calling.

Running a marathon cant be easy for anyone, someone who isnt into sports. I am not, in high school i avoided it like a disease, i would hideaway, i couldn't stand i...lol.

For Annie, i felt the emotions, everything she feels, every step of the way, i was with her. When she got sick, blister from hell and dying lol.

Then the thrill of pushing yourself to the limits and winning, coming out on the other side knowing that you did not quit and finding love in all that is truly scary and exhilarating.
Loved it.

Made me want to get back into running haha. Cute little YA romance. A little bit of teen sex/drinking.

I love everything about this book. It gives you all the feels and I REALLY recommend this book. It helped me get out of my book slump. The romance was amazing and the lesson was beautiful. Annie changes a lot throughout the book and becomes an amazing confident young women. This book is empowering and inspires you to try new things. In this book forgetting about the past isn't the way to move on. Annie reunites with her past and learns to live in the moment. Overall a beautiful book and I really recommend it.

When I saw that this was one of my friend's forever favorite books, I decided to stop putting it off. I mean, I've been meaning to read a book in the Hundred Oakes series since forevs-- and now I have!!

I feel like this may have been the perfect book for me to start with because the subject-matter is a lot more serious and lot less romancey-- although, the romance is DEFINITELY there. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed reading about running, considering whenever I have to run in real life all I can think about is the intense pain all over my body, but I liked seeing how Annie progressed.

We follow Annie's training schedule in the 6 months leading up to her first marathon. Annie isn't a runner, so having only 6 months to train to run a full marathon (26.something miles) is tough stuff. I loved reading about her training and learning things about running that I never knew (like eating fish is good for your knees and weird things about Vaseline). I actually loved being in her head, which I usually do not like. When you run, you have A LOT of time to think and for the most part, I liked Annie's thoughts.

Annie is running the marathon in honor of her boyfriend who passed away before he could run in one. It gets complicated when her trainer's brother enters the picture and gives her all kinds of crushworthy-feels. I could see why she didn't feel great about getting with a guy who is involved with something that connects to her boyfriend's memory. It was awkward as all hell.

The thing about Jeremiah (the brother) is that he's an adrenaline junkie, constantly seeking the next high, putting himself in all kinds of unnecessary danger. I felt like Annie was right to be wary-- how could she go through another accidental death of a love interest???

What I liked about the Jeremiah situation: He sounded hot as hell. Boys that don't have fear are hot-- they just are. I liked their chemistry together, and I liked that hooking up wasn't the biggest deal in the world to this author. I thought Jeremiah might have been the most patient college kid on the planet and I respected that.

The part of Jeremiah that made me feel MEH: I didn't care for Jeremiah using Annie as a way to get his new high. What's going to happen when that newness wears off?? It will wear off Jeremiah, I promise you. Also, why was every guy in love with this Annie chick?? She seemed like an everyday girl, I didn't think she needed to be HOTTEST GIRL EVER for me to believe Jeremiah would be interested in her.

I will definitely be reading more Miranda Kenneally books!! I really enjoyed the flow of this book. reading about marathon training, going to college, and awesome families. Thanks to Andi for getting me to read this backlist book that I should’ve read years ago!!

OVERALL: Great mix of serious and cuteness. Props to a book about running that made running actually interesting (it helped that there was a hot guy involved, LOL). This is my first Hundred Oaks book, but I hope it's not my last!!

Breathe Annie Breathe is an amazing book! It definitely has the perfect amount of humor and romance for a good summer read!

SUCH a great book. A definite must read. Jeremiah was amazing and it was impossible to not fall in love with him. An amazing fifth book to an even more amazing series.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimers: I received an e-galley of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: In one word this book was unbelievable. I absolutely adored it. Kenneally has always been one of my favorite YA authors and this was easily one of the best ones in the series.

The characters just felt so real. Annie was a character that I think was very relatable. She just felt realistic. She just lost her boyfriend and is running a race to honor him. She's got tough family situations, but Annie wasn't whiny. She took charge of her own future and I loved that. I liked that she didn't just sit around and mope.

Naturally, the writing was fantastic. This book drew me in from the very first page and didn't let me go until I'd read the very last page. It was a read that wasn't easy to put down.

The best type of books are the ones that make you think, that make you feel. This book was definitely one of those. I adored it. Definitely recommended.

So why 4 stars? Not quite 5 stars, but it came pretty close.

Can I read the series out of order? Yes.

Warnings/Side-notes: Some minor references to sex. 15+.

The Wrap-up: An enjoyable novel that captured my interest from the very first page. Definitely recommended and can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

Good.

This one is about knowing anything can happen at any time and you just need to live your life. This was a good one!

This was a good sweet book. I am actually sad to be done with it.
