I’m really sad that this book is the end (although I’m hoping they will come back to it eventually because I think they could). I was let down and underwhelmed. Not too much happened and it felt really rushed. There also wasn’t a lot of resolution in my opinion. This series could have been much longer and I hope they don’t leave us with this book as the last of Gertrude and Larry.

A disappointing end to the series.

Should end with a bang instead it just fizzles out.

The three previous volumes were all 5 star reads but unfortunately, this one was a let-down. The ending was rushed, and while Gert was as funny as ever, everything just felt a bit off. It was a disappointing ending to an otherwise amazing graphic novel series.

This is A fun addition to the series. More specifically it is taking the plot twist of the previous issue and following that thread to new adventures. It is a satisfying story and a clear departure from previous norms.

Well that's done. Fairyland overall was a fantastic story of the deceptions, magic, humour and fun. However, I feel like volume four was a little underwhelming, perhaps this series should have only been two or three volumes. In terms of the ending, none of the questions I had regarding the plot, in particularly why no one wanted Gert to leave were answered. The end is also an accurate reflection of the title and while abrupt in some ways very fitting. Will we see more of Fairyland? Never say never but I think it's unlikely that there will be more of Gert's storyline. Her goals were simplistic, return home, which in the end resulted in being the downfall of this series. It forced the characters to stay stuck in one story arch and rarely ever deviate from it. Volume 1 is still overall my favourite and a truly fantastic graphic novel to read.
