I’m so disappointed at how this all went. I liked Noah in the Mara Dyer series due to how devoted he was to her. I remember him saying how no matter what she does, he’d still choose Mara. This series contradicts all those sweet nothings because at the end of it, his words meant nothing. I hated reading his doubts about Mara when all she ever did was do things for the people she loves. I also got tired of seeing him call himself a hero. What hurt the most was where he said that he wished he had her power over her. I just don’t get how he judged Mara this whole time when that is what he unconsciously wanted. I hope in the next book (2050, huh?) he works for forgiveness and pleads on his knees for a century although I’m not sure how he will know of his mistakes after what happened at the end. Honestly, I hope Mara doesn’t end up giving apologies to everyone instead of everyone giving her apologies for deeming her a monster. Her heart is in the right place

this was even more boring than the first book. i'm sorry.

i skipped so many pages of noah's flashbacks and his and goose's trip to cambridge, I was so confused about what was happening.

the way this book left me on a cliffhanger (FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG)

michelle, hun, it's been +4 years...

Los reto a que me digan tres cosas IMPORTANTES que pasen en este libro.

Realmente es increíble que el libro se sienta como un remix de uno de la trilogía anterior pero MAL HECHO.

I can't believe this book. I can't believe 80% of it is Noah chilling and hanging out with Goose. And then Noah being confused, and then hanging out with Goose again. Like... this is the second book in the spinoff of the MD series, second-to-last book, no less!!! and it literally felt like a filler book??? NOTHING HAPPENED for 80%, probably 90% of it!!! I would forgive and understand this if it was the first book in the series, but SERIOUSLY??? This is close to the last book and we're given THIS??

Honestly I'm super disappointed. And this is why I'm mad, because I expected so much better. The first Shaw Confessions was really good and it gave ANSWERS, it served a purpose, but this one was just... lazy. I almost DNF, but i couldn't do that because I hold these characters and series close to my heart. But I can't deny that this was pretty bad.

1 star.

“You once told me that you were poison, and I was the drug that made you forget it. You were right and wrong; I'm not a drug, I'm a wound. And your poison is in me.
It feels like lightning and tastes like sugar, a fevered sweetness that I would give anything, anything to forget. I would tie stones to the memories of you and drown them before tying myself to you again. I would beg for nothingness, pray for blankness, but there's no one to beg. I know no God but you.”

i knew it was an awful idea to read an unfinished trilogy that has been unfinished for 5 years but i did it anyway. i need the last book so bad.

THAT END HAS ME SPINNING! I defo enjoyed this one more than the first one and it also felt more reminiscent of the OG trilogy in tone and motifs and theorising. I can't believe I have to wait over a year for the last one (but also a little glad because I'm scared). Full video review : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqA9nuEneys&feature=youtu.be

I received this arc through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have such conflicting thoughts about this book. On one hand, I love the characters so much that it made me want to keep reading. I wanted to find out what happened to them and that kept me going, but honestly? Nothing much happened in this book. I honestly couldn't tell you what happens. Everything goes down in the last few chapters. Goose and Noah spend the entire book talking and going from one place to the other until suddenly you're bombarded with information in the last few chapters.

I still found myself enjoying it, but this isn't by any means my favorite book of the series.
