3.5 stars.

Hmmm I remember loving this more when I read before. Granted that was YEARS ago and it was when I first started reading MM.

Back then, I wasn't as picky with I want in MM Romance and my tastes have certainly changed since then.

I do love the best friends to lovers aspect but I think we needed more details to how they got physical.

The back and forth and how the boundaries were broken time and time again wasn't sexy for me, On the contrary.. I felt like it made the start of their relationship tedious.

I wanted more pining, more jealousy, more feelings. We got sex....

For me, it took away from their friendship tbh.

I honestly don’t know why I DNFed this three years ago- okay I do, but the characters got on my nerves a little less this time around- and I enjoyed it. Yes it drove me up the wall (sometimes) but it was more slow burn than I expected and THAT’s always a bonus.

I do still agree with my thoughts on the coming out scene… as a queer person I just don’t see the joke in it. Nonetheless, the book was FUN. Even if I did want to smother Blue( and not with motherly love) the whole time.

What can I say, apparently three years later and I can handle asshole characters better than I use too!

Kelly realizes he's been in love with his "straight" BFF, NFL Star Blue, basically since they were twelve. Life, injuries, and jealously make Blue realize he might be in love with Kelly as well. The bi for you trope was handled well in this story and it felt like a fun quick read. I enjoyed the humor and the separate friendships.

DNF @ 20ish%

I really am not enjoying the humor in this.

Okay, I like Kelly so much but Blue needs to either poop or get off the pot!
I get that he is confused but Kelly is 100 percent honest with Blue I felt like Blue wasn’t listening.
I will say it didn’t take Blue too long to get his head out of his A – S – S and put himself out there.

I would probably like the story more if I wasn’t always waiting for Sean’s narration because I am just not a fan of Alexander’s narration. I thought being an MM book we wouldn’t get his female voice. Both these narrators need to just not do female voices. I said my peace.

Very sweet story.

Second book by S E Harmon that I read and I'm pretty sure she has just turned into one of my favorite authors. S E Harmon just writes painful scenes so damned well. Her words are simple but the scenes are so clear in my mind they hurt.

I'm so going to read all of her books.
