Good story but Both Kelly and Blue pissed me off back and forth. Over all a good story but Blue was an arse majority of the time. And Kelly had his moments too. Why is noone talking about their first two sexual encounters happening when blue is drunk and technically unable to give consent in that state. I really hate that their first time was that way. Kelly should have had enough respect for Blue then to allow it to happen then. I'm sure noone can argue that Blue is a dickwad. But can we take a moment and focus on Kelly and him being a hypocrite. I was hoping to see Kelly being more understanding and allowing Blue to come to terms with his new sexuality. Hell Kelly just came out to his parents at the beginning of this book and it was only because his boyfriend of 2 years proposed to him on TV. He wasn't shouting from the roof tops to his family about his sexuality but he expected Blue to automatically be there when he was still trying to come to terms with everything himself. And don't even get me started on their poor communication skills.

May have spoilers.
1. **Story and Writing**:
- I like the story's premise and think the author's writing is good, but the overall experience felt somewhat flat and lacked the intense emotional spark I was hoping for.
- Although the book describes Kelly's deep feelings for Blue, I couldn't feel his pain when he was repeatedly rejected; he seemed to accept it too easily.

2. **Synopsis and Plot**:
- I felt that the book's synopsis was somewhat misleading. It mentioned significant events like his mother's return and the strict demands from his coach and father, but these were barely touched upon in the story. His father and coach, in particular, played almost no role in the romantic plot.

3. **Career and Emotional Conflict**:
- The author spent a lot of time describing Blue's career, but there was little focus on how his relationship with Kelly affected his career or the emotional conflicts that arose from it. This left me feeling disappointed and confused. Despite Blue's reluctance to accept Kelly's feelings mainly because he didn't want to affect his career, this lack of focus made it even more absurd.

4. **Pacing and Development**:
- The story didn't escalate to a serious level of confrontation until Chapter 23 out of 29, making the pacing feel slow. The earlier parts felt redundant, causing the later developments to feel rushed. Blue's long struggle was resolved too quickly by a brief conversation with Evan, making the extensive career descriptions seem even more pointless.

This was a strong 3.75. I've said it before, and I'll say it again now: finding a diamond in the rough that is this hyper-specific genre is such a treat. Sure, it doesn't bring anything new to the table, not really. The story has been done many times before.

HERE, however, the standout element lies in reading from the point of view of Kelly... the wit, the snark, and his voice, in general, made me actually laugh several times. The difference between finding something amusing and finding it so funny that you impulsively laugh out loud is a pretty wide margin. So, with that said, if you like this genre, you'll probably enjoy this, with the added bonus of a truly delightful character's POV (even when you wanted to shake him for his dumb decisions).

"Breathe," he instructed.
“This isn't fucking Lamaze."
He smacked my ass, and I jumped a little. "Do what I said."
Bossy on the bottom, bossy on the fucking top," I muttered, but I did what he asked."

I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book. I remember vaguely seeing it months back and I’m not sure if I passed over it because of the cover but whatever reason I had it was stupid and if I could go back and stop myself I would because this book was absolutely hilarious. The inner monologues of Blue and Kelly were just so fun to read and so relatable too, I might add.

Friends to lovers has always been the superior trope and this book really knocked it out of the park. So

Blue and Kelly had an interesting friends to lovers romance. As Blue started looking at his best friend Kelly a little differently than before, it turned his straight world upside down. Kelly for his part kept holding on to his unrequited love as Blue went back and forth on his feelings. The narration was great as was the story.
