It was a good read, but the build up is definitely over the top. I did expect more surprises and twists than there are.
This was my first Liane Moriarty book. I know some people love her and others not so much, so I was really interested to finally read something of hers. I actually really enjoyed this book, I listened to the audio and liked the reader. She is an excellent story teller and I didn’t mind the style of going back and forth in time to build up to the climax. Still, it was pretty dramatic, and I probably won’t read another one of her books right away as I feel like I need some time to recover from this story, but definitely will in the future.

I got this to listen to on a 3 hour drive because I'd been listening to one of her other audiobooks and thought this one would be interesting too. It was not. The narrator bugged me! I don't want to be mean, but it was especially bad when she was reading the kids' or annoying barbecue guy's dialogue. I get enough of shrill, loud voices at work all day. I ended up spoiling the big secret for myself, since everything was moving so tediously slowly .
