Good, not great. Incredibly interesting setting, that drags and takes you away from the fun stuff far too much

I can’t believe it, I’m done, it’s over… I finished this piece of crap!

Okey first of all this book had the potential to be a 4, I actually think it could be regarded a 3 but I’m giving it a 2.5.
I don’t know if I was just miserable and depressed and projected it on the book. But boy oh boy this was a struggle.
I really liked the concept of Elantris (the city) and I thought Raoden story was interesting. Hrathen came around as well in the end.

I must say the world and names is the dumbest shit ever so BLAND and unrecognizable.
Many twists and climaxes were obvious and this seriously takes the cake at how bad BS was and can be at writing dialogue and characters. This is what I recognized and disliked about the first Mistborn book.

This book makes me also respect the craft of writing how - yes you have everything to go for, to it being a proper story but in the end it just seems… meh*

I only finished it cuz I’m stubborn and it’s the start of the cosmere.
I don’t want to be overly negative but this really took a toll on me, but it’s decent at best.
