Fast escalation at the end in Sanderson fashion. Hrathen loving serene was a weird touch. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much.

Everyone else: upset about being infected with a zombie-esque disease
Galladon: upset bestie infected him with reluctant optimism

For Sanderson’s debut novel, it is really good. It just doesn’t quite stack up against the rest of his works.

Elantris 4.25/5
Sanderson’s first published book is actually better than I thought it would be, it has the signs I look for in most Sanderson books; Multiple POVs, a well defined magic system, good world building, and of course the Sanderlanche. Before when I heard that Elantris has 2 planned sequels I was disappointed cause I definitely wanted more of Warbreaker instead. And while I do want more of that. I’m not disappointed that more Elantris books are coming!
