Three little girls fell through a crack in the world. Three things that looked like little girls came back.

When Iris was a little girl her and her two older sisters, Grey and Vivi, disappeared without a trace only to return, just as suddenly, a month later. But whatever happened to them changed them irrevocably. Not only did their hair and eye color transform but they also seemed to acquire supernatural abilities. It's been a decade since that incident and all seventeen year old Iris wants is to be normal, but when mysterious and famous Grey disappears under perplexing circumstances her and her sister Vivi will have to confront what happened to them.

I loved everything about this book, it 100% deserves all the hype. The plot was interesting and, while I was able to predict certain turns and twists, I never saw exactly what was coming and was pleasantly surprised as to where the author took it. The prose was beautiful, it flowed so elegantly but was also precise and moved the book along. I couldn't stop turning the pages and if I had had the time I would have finished it in a day, the pacing was on point.

My favorite part of this book were the characters. The author managed to really flesh them out while telling the story and they felt like real people. Not only that but they had layers that, as they were revealed, actually made me change the way I thought of them.
Take Cate for example. At first I found her too clingy and irrational, but as the truth came out I empathized more with her and was quite happy to see her at the end and the change in relationship between her and Iris. And of course Tyler, who I grew to like so much that I actually mourned him quite a bit and had to put the book down. TYLER YANG YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A STAR TO ME

Honestly, zero notes. I cannot recommend this enough and I hope to see more from this author.
