Wow! This book blew me away and exceeded all of my expectations. The story is intoxicatingly addictive, and constantly keeps you guessing about what happened to the three Hollow sisters. The writing is atmospheric and so brutally vivid that it paints a tangible, gruesome world for the reader to interact with.
Perhaps in the ending I would have liked a little more from the characters as the reveal unfolded quite quickly, but other than that, the journey with Iris and her sisters was captivating.

I thought it would be more black magic/fairy type vibe but it ended up being quite gory and very dark. Pushed me out of my comfort zone for sure, but it was good enough I was compelled to keep reading till the end.

I liked this one a lot! House of Hallow is a YA dark fantasy full of intrigue and mystery. It’s the story of three sisters who went missing as children and came back different. Now, ten years later, the eldest sister goes missing, and it’s up to the other two to use their supernatural connection and untapped powers to find their sister.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sutherland creates intrigue from the start, and the original premise is really just the tip of the iceberg. The writing is whimsical and suggestive of fairytales. In fact, this whole novel could be considered one dark, twisted fairytale. There are moments ripe with strong imagery and prose that feels unsettling in the subtlest of ways.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of my favorite things about this novel is it’s focus on the dangers of being a young girl in a predatory world. There are themes of sexual harassment and how girls learn at an early age how dangerous the world can be for them. There are also plenty of instances of these beautiful young women taking back that power and doing what we all wish we could do to predators.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s best to go into this one with as little knowledge as possible, so I won’t say more. But I enjoyed it a lot.

This book was SLOW. I definitely struggled to get through this at times, yet the story itself always made me pick it back up. I knew the ending would be worth it, and it was. I must add that there were an abundance of editing errors that should not have made it into the final print of the book.

it was nice, I liked the dark ambiance, but VERY predictable (i'm super dumb and managed to figure out the mystery within the first few chapters) and sometimes cliche... i'm a sucker for complicated sibling dynamics though and that was done so well in this book!!

*Before I start - please look up the trigger/content warnings before you read, it is dark and gruesome*

This book follows the story of the Hollow sisters, Iris, Vivi and Grey. When they were younger, the three sisters disappeared and reappeared a month later with no memories of where they had been. They all come back with weird abilities and a bond between them that can't be explained.

One night the three sisters are meant to meet up but Grey doesn't show. Immediately Iris and Vivi get a feeling that something bad has happened and set out to track her down. Whilst looking for Grey they start to unravel what really happened to them when they disappeared.

Super fast paced and had me so hooked from the first chapter, I finished it in a few hours! Creepy, mysterious and dark from start to end🖤
