It’s not super well written and really didn’t live up to my expectations, but it was a nice read with some interesting details and symbolism. I think it was quite important for its time, even if it isn’t beautifully written.

Holden Caulfield is an annoying little shit but I enjoyed reading his thoughts. This book is surprisingly funny but it could get emotional and reflective at times. The language and writing is pretty accessible considering that it's a classic. Would definitely give this a reread if I had the chance. I get why people have mixed feelings about the book. Holden could get pretty annoying at times, he's had a lot of moments where he's being a complete jerk and a hypocrite, but the book's still pretty good, not the best, but it's good enough.

The Catcher in the Rye is a great book which focuses on a short chapter of main character Holden Caulfield's life. It was interesting reading the story from Holden's perspective and I think 1st and 2nd person were good choices for this book rather than using 3rd person.

Some of the language used is outdated but apart from that it was a quite enjoyable read.
