Finally got around to reading this book. I can appreciate that it was one of the first of its kind to touch on teenage angst, depression, rage, and the realizations of how shitty the world is. There are a couple of laugh-out-loud moments as well as "oh.. what?"s. I had to really force myself to get through it at times but ultimately I'm glad I read all of it. Holden is a complex character and we really go through everything running in his brain.

Almost a solid 4, but just a little bit off. 3.75 stars maybe?
