Loved this one just as much as her first novel, Are You Sleeping. A twisty thriller told from multiple perspectives, the author creates a vibe that is reminiscent of the Netflix series, You. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this book and the end was deliciously twisted!

Multiple POV's can be difficult for me to read sometimes, but the author made incredible transitions and it felt smooth and flawless.

The depth of the different characters was masterful, and the plot was absolutely brimming with suspense.

This book is crazy! I don't know anyone on Instagram like Audrey, but I'm sure there are a lot. I'm very careful about what I post on social media, because as I have discovered, there are a lot of creepers online. Especially on Instagram!
I love the different POV's. Audrey, Cat, and HIM. HIM is Audrey's stalker, but we don't know who he is until closer to the end of the book. There are plenty of people to choose from though. I did not guess correctly.
While reading, I did want to yell at Audrey multiple times! Hello! Don't rent an apartment through online photos before you see it! Been there, done that and it did not end well! Thankfully my apartment wasn't below ground level. Also she had received some very creepy messages in the past. One that sticks out has to do with her eyeballs! Gross!
Another red flag, Audrey's bedroom window faces into an alley! So no surprise when she sees someone in the alley one night. Time to move! Go live with Cat, your only true friend in Washington. Plus she's an attorney who can help get you out of your lease! Although Cat gave off a creepy obsessed vibe at times. Cat also has a secret she is hiding from when she was younger.
This book did take a crazy turn in the last half when Audrey's stalker is revealed, and it turns out the stalker isn't the only crazy character in this book! Wow! When the other characters crazy comes out...I did not see that coming! I will say I had questions about the ending so I'm thankful I was part of a buddy read for this one. They helped remind me that we were all a little naive at that age.

Creepy creepy creepy ... suuuuuper creepy. Everything about this story was a modern day nightmare. The author does a pretty masterful job of keeping you guessing about who the stalker is - shocking that there can be so many possibilities without it seeming like a comical and unbelievable plot! I can only imagine the crazy post-it note wall and serial-killer-like map of connecting plot elements and reveals that had to exist for this book to exist, sheesh. And it's so realistic with social media nowadays. Every time you tag your location in a post on Instagram or Facebook ... every link you click in a private message ... there's just no certainty that someone isn't tuning into that and tracking you down ... So. Creepy. And add to all that, complicated human relationships, with sort-of friends that have been friends so long, they just sort of hover there, becoming a beacon when the character suddenly moves to their town for work, but quickly realizing it's no longer college, and were they ever really that close? ... So twisty!

This book was chilling. I am really glad I didn't read this at night while alone.
This story is about Audrey Miller a woman obsessed with putting her whole life on Instagram, Doing so leads her into danger.
The story was told in three different perspectives. This aspect of the book I enjoyed. It was a fast paced read with good character development. The story was engaging and has made me think twice about what I share on social media.

This book grabbed me right from the beginning. The setup was intriguing and timely. Who hasn’t known someone who was obsessed with their social media image or better yet, been that person themselves? It was fun for awhile trying to navigate the twists and turns, but then the story started to run out of steam. It’s hard when a book leaves you with no real likable characters. I was waiting for karma or a lesson to be learned here, but my takeaway was that these characters were all just varying degrees of selfish.

3.5. I like Kathleen Barber’s exploration of current trends, her last book (are you sleeping? Which I loved) had a hit podcast, this book has a perfectly curated insta feed complete with it’s curator working on her own “presets.” I liked this book but I didn’t love it. Audrey wasn’t sharing enough for me to feel like the line of her right to/expectation of privacy was blurred.

I am amazed at the things I learn reading books about technology and crazy people. I have never heard of Ratting and now I am going to be super cautious about what I open from anyone I know (or don't know!).

There are many twists and turns in this book and when I thought I had figured out who "him" was, I find out at the end I was dead wrong. OMG, I did NOT expect that reveal.

Audrey is self-absorbed and I suppose that is common for influencers - they think the world revolves around them. Plus it goes to show that their life is NOT perfect and is just a stage to gain attention from the public. She claims she didn't want to be a mean girl, but not caring about those around you is a way of being mean.

Cat lacks self-esteem and some of her past that is revealed throughout the book, especially at the end was surprising.

I do think some things were left unanswered about some of the characters in this book. I would have liked to have seen some resolution to these characters and some specific incidents.

This book will definitely keep you up at night wondering what might happen next.

When I started the book I was truly getting some "You" by Caroline Kepnes vibes. I enjoyed that novel so I kept going, enjoying the picture Kathleen Barber was painting. It definitely made me think of technology today and the harm versus the help. Overall this book was written very well and I really enjoyed it!
