I loved this book. I read it off of a coworker's recommendation. (Basically she pulled my trick of "Here. You HAVE to read these! They're the best thing ever!" while pushing a pile of graphic novels in my hands.) I love the art, I love the housewife leading a double life as a covert operative story. I just love the overall aesthetic to the work.

A homemaker, housewife, and killer in the 1960's trying to balance work life and her home life. Pretty great illustrations and story that wraps it up rather nicely in one volume, I hope they continue this because it's great and they strongly hint at a volume 2! The art in this book is pretty amazing and the spoof art in the back is really fun! This book I would suggest for mature readers. ~Ashley

Recomendo.

The illustrations in this comic are fabulous! My eyes were glued to the page. It was a fun story line (for great insight read the introduction, you won't regret it!) enhanced by the amazing graphics. Female assassins aren't exactly known for getting their hands dirty. Suffocation and poison are the general favorites, but this comic turns all that around. A doting housewife and mother LOVES killing and loves getting her hands dirty. She'll take any job as long as she's back in time for dinner. Her superior is becoming annoyed that she isn't available at any time (because you know, kids) so he starts to think about cutting her loose, but they may prove to be very very dangerous idea. Lots of fun! Worth a read!

DUDE. THE AMOUNT THAT I LOVED THIS BOOK.
All of the art is spectacular, but I particularly loved how Josie was portrayed -- on the surface, she's a stereotypical 50s babe, but when you look closer, you realize she has jacked arms and incredibly powerful shoulders. Because, you know, she KILLS WITH HER HANDS FOR A LIVING, so that's how she should look. Also, she takes no shit from men (or women), and can hold her own with any opponent, male or female. Great, great, great, great.

Lady Killer is a fun gorey time of woman's empowerment in a man dominated world of assassination. Who says women can't have it all. And that husband is so clueless, but at least he is supportive of her independence in a time when most men would not be. Loved it.
