I read Credence first and although that book has flaws the writing and character development was much better than this one. It has a “happy ending” but not my favorite.  MMC bothers me so much!

The first half of this was so slow I almost thought about not finishing it but I tried again at another time and it did start to get good at 50%, but some things bothered me and gave me the ick. To clarify I'm NOT trying to yuck anyone's yum and I'm usually ok with the age gap trope but the fact Jordan is only 19 felt super unnecessary. And Pike trying to act like her dad all the time? I don't know about this one.

I haven't been able to finish a Penelope Douglas book in the past, but I like this one a lot. Yes, there is explicit sex, but I feel like the book actually developed the relationship between the characters a lot. Her writing style isn't great prose, but it is fun and fast-paced and I found myself wanting to continue. Usually I feel like her books could be shorter, but this one had a plot that made sense and never had a dull spot.
