I've never read a book that got me in my feelings like this one did. Of course it was the case with some but this one took a little deeper in my soul. The last 2 or 3 paragraphes had me in tears. Life can be so threatening and beautiful at the same time. It was well enough represented in this book in Malt and Dalt's relationship.

Haven't had a book hurt me like this in a long time. I both love and hate the characters in this book.

Cried my eyes out through the last few chapters. I got really attached to these characters.

I picked this book up on a whim (after judging it by its cover) from the library after realizing I didn’t have a book to bring on my road trip. I was not expecting to fall so in love with the characters and their love story, and definitely did not expect to bawl like a baby at the conclusion.

This book is beautifully written and highly suggest it to anyone who just needs a good love story to warm the heart and then break it.

I don't know, I guess I can see why this is a 4-star for so many people, but I just didn't quite buy the relationship between the two main characters. Men writing from the perspective of women so often fail, and in this case, while I think the author intended for Maddie to come off as "strong," she just came off as crabby and unlikeable. Her husband came across as too good to be true, and it was never clear what made their love so supposedly powerful. I liked the book *just* enough to read it all, and I'll be the first to confess that I was very touched first by the kids as they were teenagers, and then by the inevitable sad ending. I was indeed weeping at the end, but more because I am an easy audience as opposed to this being a superbly crafted book. Sorry I'm so crabby about the book - just call me Maddie.
