Anton Chekhov will always be close to my heart. His elegant language embraces with such tenderness the fragility of his characters. But Uncle Vanya is unique for me too. This is the first English language play I have performed in. Rereading it now after so many years brought nice memories. And, a bit older, I think I understood better the emotions that drove its people to their personal downfalls.
