I am still thinking about this book weeks after reading it. I admire her so much for taking back control and telling her story. My biggest takeaway from this book and Prince Harry’s is having so much more empathy for celebrities and the scrutiny they live under. There’s so much to be said about ethics, mental health, misogyny, and trauma in these pages, and I think it would make for interesting book club discussion.

Brittney Spears’ novel, I assume is written by a ghost writer. This book covers mainly her rise to fame and her mental struggles, along with her family issues and relationships along the way.

Having read now her novel and her sisters, I can conclude the issues of the family lie in the parents. Brittney has had a hard life and definitely should’ve been able to choose her own path rather than being forced to become this big time celebrity.
I enjoyed this book and hope Brittney finds happiness and peace with her sister.

EVERY BRITNEY FAN NEEDS TO READ THIS.
From 1999-2004 Britney's albums were in constant rotation on my cd player alongside Avril, Shania, Tim McGraw, NSYNC, and Backstreet Boys. After 2004 I didn't follow her closely, just heard what the media put out there. Just shows how awful our media and the paparazzi can be, even worse is they go to such extremes because people buy into it. Will everyone like this book? No. Is it written well? No. Yet, her story is heartbreaking and I think every fan needs to read it. Her story, from her perspective.

Britney's memoir exposes the brutalism of misogynistic media treatment, the turmoil of troubling personal relationships, and unearths in detail the punitive regimentation of her selfhood under the conservatorship enforced by her father, which she bravely defeated in 2021.
~
Yet, all the while, the memoir is ultimately uplifting, hopeful, and displays someone taking a declarative stance in embodying her own feminine power, showcasing a deeply loving mother and an artist who has been so resolute and forthright in the creative control of her decades-long lustrous career. We all wish you nothing but the best, Britney!
