I found the pacing of the book a bit all over the place. There's some🌶 that is dark and heavy, but overall I enjoyed it that portion of the book.
The backstories of each character was a bit too upfront. I like a little bit more unsaid intentions and mystery, personally.
The world building could be fleshed out more and I hope the author has a chance to explore and experiment on that in any future entries.

This is a dark, thrilling and steamy introduction to this new RH romance series. It introduces Amethyst and her men. Whom are engaging characters. The storyline is original and captivating. This story sucked me in so quickly. There are possible triggers including non-con, please beware before reading! This only only the beginning and ends on a cliffhanger, I am very excited to read book 2.

I wanted to love this book, but it didn't quite work for me. I'm writing this review a month after I read the book, and I had completely forgotten about it. Even the cover did not jog my memory. I read the summary and the book came back to me, but I realized that the story (although an interesting concept) wasn't memorable, and the characters weren't fleshed out enough to get attached to. The book ended on a slight cliffhanger, leading into the next book.
