My favorite part was when Haruki Murakami wrote a poem about baseball players’ butts.

Quick read, comes in easily digestible bites. Would recommend if you like Murakami— please note he is a little odd and misogynistic.

Been a while since I read Murakami, and I think my tastes have changed since my first encounter with him. I only skimmed the Baseball essay chapter; Charlie Parker Plays Bossa Nova didn't grab me. Carnaval and First Person Singular were probably the ones I enjoyed the most, mainly because of the aimlessness of them. He is a writer, in my opinion, you need to be in a particular kind to mood to read and perhaps the reason these stories resonated more is because they're at the end of the book. Who knows?
I do prefer his novels to his short stories, but one thing he does really well is capturing the weird feeling of not-feeling. Stasis.
