honestly kind of a let down after 7 days in june. Also, although it was objectively an enjoyable romance novel, it didn’t have the same substance to it that beach read had.  I do feel like this is a rom com that could benefit from alternating povs. But it’s well written and enjoyable, so if you need a book to read at the beach or pool, as i did, this is a great one.

Considering how I had half suspicions placed I wasn't gonna like it, the revealing side of the book on the most later parts convinced me of the pathway it was leading to. I was excited over the fact that it involved lots of travel and vacation alike but the very thought drained me since the transition of past to present submerged. I love how it makes me sick to think that there were realistic cues all too well not brandishing out-of-the-world fantasies. Are we ever truly existing? It gives me that kind of thought. How can we let years pass by as if we had all the time in the world, really? This not only speaks of truth when it comes to sparks of love but it also sparks true towards knowing thyself. Living life isn't really about focusing on those little happiness, though that can be the best thing ever, its also about letting it all in even when tides turn as long as you hold your ground - eventually it all gets better.

A book that just left me wanting a little more. Two best friends go on vacation every summer for 10 years  (just the two of them, even when they both are in relationships with other people, they still go just the two of them). I just felt like they were both not good for each other, especially Poppy.

She was always a wedge between Alex and his other relationships because he could never let her go (she would never let him let her go) so he would move on and live his life without her. She would never let him grow because she had to have him all to herself even though she “didn’t love him”, he couldn’t be with any one else but her.

Twelve years of your life with someone, stopping them from being truly happy because you can’t have them all to yourself, you have to share him with other people. It just didn’t vibe with me. I was trying really hard to like it but the last 30 pages especially with the warped rationale, the way Poppy tried to reason and explain why she did what she did and why she just wasted 12 years of their lives and the confessions and the reasoning on why things happened the way they did, was just the nail in the coffin for me for this book.
