Yuknavitch is a brilliant, evocative writer (her descriptions of grief are some of the most accurate and raw I’ve ever read) but the use of slurs throughout was extremely distracting to me.

A remarkable read. So beautifully written and honest. Not giving 5 stars because the author uses the r* word multiple times throughout which is pretty jarring given how recently it was written.
