I liked it. I enjoyed the plot and the introduction to the characters. I loved Charlotte and Sidney and appreciated what they did in making Sidney a bit more silly and fun-natured than he was in the adaptation.

My only critique was that I felt like it dragged a bit in some parts and there were a lot descriptions about Sanditon the town which bored me. I also wish there was more background given on the Raynors earlier in the book because when they were introduced towards the end, it seemed like a massive info dump to explain the big reveal about who a certain character was.

Overall, I would read it again and plan to. It took me wayyyy too long to read this book. 4 months is crazy!

A typical Austen. Our heroine Charlotte is basically the only sensible character, while everyone else is comically pathetic and unlikeable.

As this is the last Austen novel I had to read to complete the set, my final rating goes as follows:
P&P - Emma - S&S - Persuasion - Lady Susan - Sanditon - Northanger Abbey - The Watsons - Mansfield Park

Now all that is left is the collection of short stories and snippets, "Love and freindship".

I've decided not to judge this one as a Jane Austen novel considering she only wrote the first 10.5 chapters, but instead as a nice regency romance that I enjoyed!
