A really interesting take on the post-apocalyptic novel.

It's a very slow burn, and the ending isn't so much an ending but a beginning. It's incredibly sad and beautiful. I found that I couldn't put it down after the halfway mark and I stayed up until 4 to finish reading. Oops. Worth it though. It is a beautifully written story.

The creepiness of this book feels exactly like how winter takes hold. Slowly, and then with mounting realization that you should have been more prepared.

For my part, I wish it had been longer. I wish we had spent more time with each character, but the tension was built so well I can't complain.
