Finally. I have read this classic tale. It is a mystery well laid out and providing a welcome introduction to Holmes’s and Watson. Fun story, replete with mystery and suspense.

This is my second time reading this fantastic story. The first time I read it was in 2001. I was thinking of picking up to read The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz. But then I thought, "What was the story about the hound? How was it set track upon the victim by Stapleton?" Essentially, I wanted to refresh my memory with finer details. It fulfilled my desire with great joy!

This is definitely one of the better Sherlock Holmes books. I enjoyed the characters very much in this one. Sherlock did a fascinating breakdown of the solution. I wouldn't have wanted to meet that hound on a dark night on the moor though.
It’s cool that this is the most famous Holmes story, because it really captures the imagination. I remember reading it in school and knowing that Sherlock stuck to reality, so how could this beast be explained?
Upon re-reading 25 years later, eh, it’s not the strongest, plot-wise, and could arguably be 3 stars for me. But again, it’s a good intro to the world of Holmes, and holds up perfectly fine by itself.
