Before reading this, I read some of the reviews on goodreads and was kind of hesitant to read it since the book was about fallen angels who had become vampires trying to regain God's grace while fighting Lucifer/Satan. However, I decided to go against what my brain was telling me and read the book. There are vampire books I like (they're not about fallen angels tnough) so I thought I would like this one too and I do but at a different level. I like the intensity and the suspense of the mystery as Schyler and the others try to find out who the Silver Bloods are. I like the storyline, the spark of romance between Schyler and Jack and the love triangle between Schyler, Jack and Oliver. Even though Melissa de la Cruz created a different set of vampires, I still like it (just not the fallen angel part). I mean these vampires don't sparkle under the sun which is a plus for me. I will definitely be reading the sequel and see if I like the series any less, better, or the same.

meh. vampires and high fashion. lots of designer name-dropping and prices--a bit too obvious in that. have heard mostly that this is a good series,, but i don't know if i want to read anymore. the teaser chapter of the second book at the end of the first read just like a hardy boys book, recapping the first book.

This was recommended to me by a good friend/coworker. I'm so glad I picked it up! I found the premise to be entirely unique and all of the characters to be enthralling.

I liked the take on vampires splashed with historical references. I also liked how it gave me a Gossip Girl vibe. However, it was just okay and for how many books there are, I probably will not continue on.

Completely blown away by this book. It was so much more than I expected. I know everyone has their own ideas of what types of books they enjoy. But when I first read some of these reviews I wasn't expecting much. I love the characters, I love the unique ideas, and I love the details and imagination the author uses. I cannot wait to indulge in the rest of the series!
