If you were mine, Iris, there would be no doubt what position you’d hold in my life. You’d be center. I’d play you at the five.

Five stars is nowhere close to enough! Kennedy Ryan’s writing is truly amazing. Her words via audiobook come to life so beautifully. This book was HARD at times. The abuse Iris endured is devastating. I think the audiobook made it both easier and harder to listen to. The love that binds Iris to August while she endures Caleb is incredible. This book is over and I’m still crying (a variety of tears). Cannot recommend this enough! Check TW first.

I don’t know what to say. One of the best books I’ve read this year. KR has such a strong, authentic voice, and her characters always feel like real people I can root for. August and Iris absolutely have my heart. This book was hard at times, potentially triggering for some, but ultimately a beautiful love story. I’m sad it’s over...

I didn’t like the characters as much as I’ve liked the characters in some of Kennedy’s other books. However, I still found the story interesting.
