this felt like what would happen if the sci-fi channel came up with a christmas special where the aesthetics was small town america gothic

Pues igual de divertida, muy entretenida y defintivamente me gustaría ver una película de serie b con ese guión xD

I enjoyed the book. Not a literary masterpiece, but fun and reasonably well written. Also, zombies!

(Disclosure: I copied and pasted this from my LiveJournal from 8 years ago...)
I wrote a decently long review of this book, and a little off topic story to go with it, and LJ decided it didn't like it and deleted it all.

I really am not willing to type it all out again, so here it is in short bullet points
-pretty good, not my favorite c.moore
-favorite holiday book, hands down
-would like to see it get made into a movie because i do want zombies along with my christmas cheer.
-good to see some of my favorite characters back, not only the Pine Grovers but raziel, tucker case and roberto as well.
-zombies and carnage!! FTW.
-side off topic story: my sister's dog chewed this up, went to 6 stores in Santa Fe to replace it, apparently it is out of print, sad story.

Not the best of Moore's novels, hardly my favorite, but a fun read for the holidays.
It's a little bit wacky and makes me miss CA.

I'd go 3.5 stars on this one - Moore is HILARIOUS!

This was my first read by Christopher Moore and I definitely intend to read his other works.

The Stupidest Angel is not a traditional Christmas tale, as can probably be assumed by the title. And just in case it isn't assumed, Moore starts with an author's warning, “If you’re buying this book for your grandma or a kid, you should be aware that it contains cuss words as well as tasteful descriptions of cannibalism and people in their forties having sex. Don’t blame me, I told you.” - thus begins his satirical, dry, quick wit.

Though the plots are somewhat fantasy/paranormal, his characters are "real" - the language, actions, and thoughts. In reading his bio I learned that he has held many, many real-world, blue and white collar jobs in his lifetime - he definitely incorporates his knowledge gained from these positions in his characters and story. He portrays many stereotypes in the novel along with taking satirical liberties about traditional "Christmas miracle" stories.

There are so many funny turns in this book - if you're looking for something light, funny, and off the beaten path this holiday season, you need to read The Stupidest Angel. However, if you need traditional or are easily offended, you may want to choose another author/story!

I must say that around page 200 I was like Whaaaaaat?! Everyone in this book is off their rocker and the plot was so-so but it was a page turner.

I think this book was trying to be like a Carl Hiassen? I just did not enjoy this book. I finished it but would not recommend it to anyone.

Very funny in a sick twisted kind of way.
