I tried this book because I hadn’t read this type of book before and decided sci-fi isn’t for me. The book kept getting weirder until it finally ended.

However the ending has made me think about the whole book in a new way. And because of that I gave it 3 stars.

The premise was so intriguing yet the execution flopped. I should’ve stopped listening to the audio book when Ben witnesses Harold’s anger fit and he says something like “But they haven’t thought about what it’ll do to the ants!!” Because all it made me think of was the episode of Always Sunny in Philadelphia, “Flowers for Charlie” ,,, ifykyk
Book took forever and Harold just annoyed me. There were also just too many plot holes and I feel like the science didn’t make enough sense for it to be considered an actual sci-fi.
Highlight of the book was probably the guy who did the narration for the audio version cause he was putting in WORK doing like 5 different types of accents for each of the characters.
Would not recommend, just watch Annihilation instead.
