It's a rare Stephen King book that I give less than four stars (it's only happened twice before?), but this one has managed it.

This book tried really hard to make me not like it, but at the end of the day I think the good outweighed the bad (just). 

The fantasy "other world" elements of this book were great.

The quest was great, WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY MOVING FORWARD. WAAAAAY too much time spent on side "adventures", which I know were to help build character etc but just went on and on and on and on. 

Cut this book by 33%-50% and you have one of the best fantasies written honestly.
