The story of Majella who works in a chip shop in a border town in Ireland. Discusses the troubles from a child's perspective. I really liked the main character and some of the quirky, gossipy aspects of the small town life. Mostly set in the chip shop which I enjoyed although it made me hungry. I would have liked more resolution.

A review on the cover said this was milkman meets derry girls. They all involved strange, quirky teenage girls in the Irish troubles but that’s about where the similarities end. Actually, that’s an enormous part of all 3 so maybe they have a point. They couldn’t be more different to experience, but also the same. Take from that what you will

GREAT audiobook read by Nicola Coughlin (of Derry Girls fame).
