Good book about a bad ass Italian "wise guy". He was you know, a goodfella. The viewpoints change quickly between the author then direct quotes/pieces between Henry Hill and even Karen- his wife, Linda etc...
I liked it!

Surprising how closely the movie resembles this book. The entire thing felt like a Ray Liotta soliloquy in the movie, which in my opinion were some of the best parts. There is way more detail here and if you enjoyed the film you'll love this book.

There's so much money to be made that everyone with their hands out allows the thefts to be committed. How can you possibly prevent organized crime families when officials all the way up to judges and possibly beyond can easily be bribed to look the other way? I wonder how much Henry didn't tell us. It seems he never implicates himself in any murders or violence. Is it possible that he spent all this time in the family and only dealt in drugs and theft and never murder? I find that kind of hard to believe but I fully understand leaving those details out of the book.

Goodfellas was an absolutely brilliant film, and I can see why. The content behind the film was even better.

It’s like reading Goodfellas (one of my favorite movies), only with more details that the movie didn’t have time to include. It’s still hard to fathom that it’s non-fiction, given the amount of murder and stealing and overall disregard for any sort of law or societal norms.

Terrific! Henry was so great. He had the every day family and... look how he ended up! Just goes to show, it can happen to anyone. I love these behind the scene looks at racketeering, drug trafficking, whatever. I have no real experience, so I get my "fix" in books!
