I found this book and the world it occupies very gripping. I love Jess Kidd's world building and characters, though I've never enjoyed any of her books endings (I like happy endings or endings where things feel resolved or changed in some way). I found Mr. Flood's cantankerous energy and tragic past very compelling, I enjoyed Maud's imagined..hallucinated..? Saints very fun and interesting.
