Okay originally when I read this the year was 2003, the Peter Pan movie was out. I had a massive crush on the actor who played him (which honestly I feel like we all did). My friend and I were taking turns reading the book aloud one night when she slept over and when I say that I mean she had to take over reading basically the whole book because I couldn’t stop laughing every time Tinkerbell said “you silly ass.” It was a 5 star experience honestly.

Upon my reread in the year 2025, I have decided to lower that rating to a 4 cause it is a little silly goofy. But it was amazing how much of the story flashed me back to that movie and I had a great time remembering it. Still giggled every time Tinkerbell said “you silly ass”, apparently I still find it funny.

If he hadn't put racism in this book, it would be the best book ever.

The way he writes! The language equal parts strange, dark and beautiful! The characters are all rounded to the point where he isn't actively telling you who to like or not, Pan is more anti-hero than hero. The chivalry of Pan (ok not feminist but he almost worships girls in a pure platonic way!). The way even pirates are shown sympathy and even Mrs Darling is teased! The way he shows the grown up (to me, the straight, neurotypical, Edwardian grown up) world as one great game of pretend! The slipperiness between play, reality and dreams!

I loved this book as a kid and I go on loving it now!

Everytime I read this, I see a different truth in it. It will always matter to me and engage me, regardless of my age. THAT is the sign of a good book.

Something that immediately surprised me about this book - it’s very funny, in a Douglas Adams type of humor. I sort of knew that Peter Pan was a brat, but never really realized the depth of that until now. Also, Tinkerbell is not only a nasty wench, but she has a bit of a potty mouth in the book. I was also very surprised at how accurate the Disney adaptation is, changing things only slightly where it doesn’t excise them.

such a cozy read and I loooooved the narrator for the audiobook

When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.

After reading Alice's Adventures in wonderland , and now Peter Pan , i discovered that children's fairy tales are the best kind fantasy books. they are so pure and charming and beautiful and i waanna Read Them Aaaaaaaall !.

my favorite thing about this book was definitely Peter Pan's personality .he's brave and smart yet pure and amazingly cute . i just adored him

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the only classics I’ve read for fun (non-school related) and I’m surprised how much I enjoyed it. This book is absolutely unhinged and feral, which caught me SO off guard. It’s a quick and easy read that I could easily see myself rereading in the future!
