All the weaknesses of this compiled book come with the inconsistencies and changes between authors, but reading this all at once as a full book is probably not the best way to experience it.

Anyway, there's some really good stuff in here. I particularly liked the essays about The Fast & the Furious as exposure therapy for accepting a loved one's death in a car accident, all of the essays that explore the gender dynamics of the series or analyze it as a metaphor for gender construction, the TTRPG instructions, and the body horror short story. It's genuine, it's caring, it's beautiful and uncaring about its own beauty all at once.
