Bachelor at her Bidding by Kate Hardy is the second book in the Montana Born Bachelor Auction series, it is a cute story. Dr. Rachel Cassidy came back to Marietta after her marriage fell apart and she vowed to not date anymore. She felt that her friends, family, and work were enough for her. Well, she was surprised when her friends chipped in and bought her chef Ryan Hendrson for her birthday. Ryan agrees to come over and cook Rachel dinner on her birthday and while in her kitchen sparks fly. He doesn't want to date anyone because of a bad experience with his ex and the need to care for his ailing grandmother. I really enjoyed watching their love story unfold and when he screws up, Ryan does one of the most romantic things to make it up to Rachel. My heart actually skipped a beat when I read it. I give this story 4.5 stars and highly recommend it.

Sometime doing something you don't want to do puts you in touch with someone who may have your best interest at heart. Rachel moved back to Marietta feeling a bit broken and bruised only to have to deal with small town gossip which left her feeling lonely and empty. Ryan is back in Marietta to help his grandma after all she has done for him its the least he can do for her not that she is aging and getting sick, however he come back broken and not ready to deal with anything other then cooking so really get food for Grey's and helping his grandma as she ages. I really loved this book it was so "sweet" and I loved how even though both are broken that is not was the storyline was built on. The chemistry in the book has you turning each page from beginning to the end just to see what is going to happen next. The story really does leave you with a mouth watering feeling in the end. Cake and Chocolate is a way to win most people over but will it work to ask for forgiveness?

4.5 stars for a great read! I kinda love these. This series is something I put on the back burner because when I read book one, I did my usual thing and searched for the authors name, not the title when I continue a series and couldn't find it... Obviously because they're not from the same author!

This was greatly written, I loved the hero and heroine, and this book really couldn't get any sweeter. If my man cooked me desserts everyday with little chocolate card notes to say sorry I'd forgive him in a heartbeat!

I love these because they're not too short. Shit happens, they're emotional and you can actually get invested. I don't think they'd be any good if they were longer, they really are the right size and don't take too long to read at all. There's also not unrealistic drama, I love that.

3.5 The 2nd book in this series does not disappoint. Rachel and Ryan couldn't resist each other from the beginning. LOVED reading all about the food, yum! :)

So this is a series written by different authors about what happens to each of the bachelors at a bachelor auction.

Rachel is a family doctor who has returned home after her husband cheats on her with his ex-girlfriend and tells her that he only went out with Rachel to make his ex jealous and that he never loved Rachel (what a charmer).

Ryan is the chef at the local saloon. A Paris-trained pastry chef who had ambitions to open a Michelin-star quality restaurant, he returned home when he discovered that his beloved grandmother has Alzheimer's.

At the bachelor auction Rachel thinks her sister is bidding on Ryan for herself (she says she wants a fancy meal cooked for her) and is surprised when her sister and their friends give her the date as a birthday present.

This was a sweet (pun intended) romance with two people who have been battered by love (that was unintentional) and are slightly bruised. it had much more of a small town vibe than the first book.

This was my least favorite in the series. I enjoyed it but I felt that the characters were pretty much instantly in love. I would still recommend it though.

If you set a book in Montana, get an American editor

The story here was sweet and cute but it is obvious that the author is not an American English speaker. So much of the vernacular is just plain wrong and it takes your head right out of the story...and for me that's an unforgivable offense. Truly, what would it take to have Beta readers or an editor or someone who actually lives in the place you are setting your story to correct your jargon?! This is so irritating to me because it's sloppy and lazy.
