This is a smart and thought provoking book that was written so almost anyone can pick this up and understand it’s concepts. Systems are important to understand because it is the more technical version of understanding cause-and-effect and gives you tools to think outside the box / system.

Albeit a bit simplistic but it gets the point across very well. I have already thought about some things that were explained in this but other parts have helped me crystallize my ideas. It will definitely be (another) a useful tool in the shed on how to view the world. Surely recommended to everyone!

Thinking In Systems: A Primer was a really great introduction to systems theory. It's not too heavy (the proof is that I listened to it as an audio book) and it has enough real world examples to be relevant to a normal person. The last parts were the best, where twelve methods to change systems were outlined (and when best to apply them), and the final section, which showed how systems thinking can be used to derive ethical arguments for change, based around seeing effects of locally beneficial but globally destructive behaviour on the whole system.
