It had been a while since I read a mind-blowing book.
I love that sensation of connecting the dots with many other disciplines...
As a sportswear brand would say: "Just read it!"
informative medium-paced

My favorite primer on systems thinking.

good solid easy read - I got a lot out of it and enjoyed it :)

This treatment is merely qualitative, but its ideas are important.

Perhaps closer to a 3.5.

This book is life changing. Author does an amazing job at explaining the principles to reason over systems in the world around. Learn about the traps that systems fall into and ways to get out.
hopeful informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

A greatly enjoyable book. I expected it to be 'dry' and deterministic but it was anything but...
The author introduces the main concept of systems dynamics and uses those to explain current events and challenges we face (e.g climate change, poverty, war on drugs, etc). It is a great book that teaches to look across boundaries, shift perspective between system structures and behaviours, and understand why systems surprise us. It raises awareness of some common blind spots and shows why so often well-intended policy levers do not work. I loved this book, as the principles here can be extended to any setting (world, politics, business, family…). It teaches you a different perspective into how the world operates.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook with Daniel, which resulted in multiple pausings so that we could share other illustrative examples, ideas, or experiences with the concept of any given passage.
