I didn’t love this quite as much as the previous books, perhaps because we were introduced to a whole host of new characters (this book is set in the late 1950s unlike the previous books which are present day) and I missed the characters I have grown to love. That’s not to say I didn’t like meeting these characters – I thought they were great, especially Joan – and I really enjoyed the mix of fact and fiction that being set in the past allowed the author to play with.

Overall, another great addition to the Her Majesty the Queen Investigates series and I’m excited to see what comes next.
